DC Movies Leaving HBO Max Already?

Starting July 1st, most of the current DC Comics movies on HBO Max will be gone after one month since launch.
DCEU films including Wonder Woman, Batman v Superman, Justice League and Aquaman will no longer be available on the new streaming service. This doesn't make any sense and seems a bit fishy. Why would HBO Max already start removing content that is integral in snagging more subscribers?
A total of 15 films will be leaving, but newer titles like Shazam!, Joker, and HBO’s Watchmen series will remain. We know they’re leaving because are now located in the “Last Chance” section of the app. We reported earlier that the curated DC content is already lacking compared to what subscribers thought they were getting.
According to a statement made by HBO Max, “We have a collection of DC films that will rotate on the platform. We have a new batch coming in July and then another batch coming in August. And I have just confirmed that the batch that is on right now will be returning.”
UH...ok? Although this is the nature of most streaming services, they JUST launched. This doesn't explain very much other than there will be a rotating roster every month for DC movies, television series, and animated series.
How does the upcoming season of DC Universe' season 2 of Doom Patrol play into this? The series is supposed to release one episode per week on both DC Universe and HBO Max starting on June 25th.
It would make sense if Warner Bros. didn't already own the content and some sort of contract ran out. BUT THEY DO OWN THE CONTENT. Hmm...maybe we'll see older series like Smallville, or that one season of Birds of Prey? It would also be nice to see The Dark Knight Trilogy as they originally advertised. In short, we want access to all of DC Comics content and HBO Max is the perfect place for such a large catalog of anything and everything DC.
However, this just doesn't feel right and it's another bad move. Maybe there is something else going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Either way HBO Max is being more mysterious and shrouded than Batman himself. All we can do is wait for the new content schedule for July 1st to try and figure out what they are really up to.
HBO Max is now available on iOs and Android devices.
