First Look: The Terrifying Trailer For 'The Haunting of Bly Manor'
The new Netflix horror anthology series starts streaming just in time for Halloween.
Fall is right around the corner, and Netflix has unveiled the terrifying trailer for the forthcoming horror show The Haunting of Bly Manor. The horror anthology series is the follow-up to the 2018 breakout hit The Haunting of Hill House. The director and showrunner Mike Flanigan (Doctor Sleep) returns to helm the series.

The first season Hill House was a reimagining of author Shirley Jackson’s 1959 horror novel of the same name. The new season Bly Manor sees Flanigan put his spin on Henry James’ 1898 ghost story The Turn of the Screw. James’ original story takes place at the Bly Manor and centers around two orphans under the care of a young governess. The more time the governess spends inside the manor's halls, the more she becomes convinced that something supernatural is present.
The new Haunting of Bly Manor is set in 1980s England. After an au pair’s tragic death, Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas) hires a young American nanny (Victoria Pedretti) to come care for his orphaned niece and nephew (Amelie Bea Smith, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth).
Additionally, The Haunting of Bly Manor's ensemble cast includes Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, T’Nia Miller, Rahul Kohli, and Amelia Eve. The show will see several actors from Hill House playing new characters.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, producer Trevor Macy explained the similarities between the two seasons of Flanagan’s horror anthology. “The process is the same, in that it’s a literary remix. You want to update the story, you want to find whatever fertile ground for elevating the character that you can in the source material, but we obviously took some liberties in updating it with a more modern setting.”
The Haunting of Bly Manor premieres October 9 on Netflix.
