Marvel has revealed that Kat Coiro will head up the upcoming She-Hulk series on Disney+. According to Deadline, she is in negotiations to direct the pilot as well as several other episodes of the show. She will also serve as an executive producer.

Jessica Gao (Rick and Morty) will be the series' lead writer.

Coiro has directed popular series like Netflix's Dead To Me, FX's It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and Showtime's smash hit Shameless. She's also jumped into the director's chair on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and ABC's comedy phenom Modern Family.

Coiro's next feature film Marry Me is set to premiere on Valentine's Day in 2021 via Universal. The picture stars Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, and Sarah Silverman. Latin Grammy Award winner Maluma makes his acting debut in the film.

The highly-anticipated She-Hulk is the latest in a group of Marvel shows coming to Disney+ in 2021. The studio has WandaVision, Loki, and The Falcon and Winter Soldier in the works as well. All the shows are currently in production.

With Coiro and Gao on board, Marvel's casting for She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters has begun.

She-Hulk is the last major Marvel character to be co-created by the late, great Stan Lee.
