After countless rumors, reports and misinformation articles, we've got a confirmation from his representation.

Before I get any further into this, would you excuse me for one moment?

Ok, now let’s get on with it.
ICM Partners, the talent agency that represents Keaton and many others has officially confirmed that Michael Keaton will be playing his iteration of Batman in the upcoming Flash movie titled...*checks notes*...The Flash.
We first heard about this movie being a possible thing nearly a year ago with loose rumors and hearsay. Then it was confirmed to not be happening. Then we did a Rumor Roundup in September 2020 of what to expect for the 2022 film.

...and now, here we are. It's actually happening. The 80's baby's quintessential Batman is coming back. This comes about a month after Keaton said in an interview with Deadline where he expressed concerns over Covid and filming.
“That will determine everything, and so that’s why I’m living outside the city here on 17 acres, staying away from everybody, because the Covid thing has got me really concerned. So, that’s my first thing about all projects. I look at it and go, is this thing going to kill me, literally? And you know, if it doesn’t, then we talk.”
The 2022 Flash movie is heavily rumored to take nod from the Flashpoint comics and that Keaton will actually play Thomas Wayne instead of Bruce, because in this original timeline, Bruce was the one killed in the alley by Joe Cool. Now, again as we saw in the Crisis On Infinite Earths television event, anything can happen so we will need to wait and see. Kevin Conroy, voice of Bruce Wayne in Batman The Animated Series came back to play Thomas Wayne, Ezra Miller & Grant Gustin's Flasheseses met each other in a pretty low-key hilarious scene and the original Robin, Burt Ward appeared as Dick Grayson. It was an incredible event, and proof that DC does TV right...as for cinematic, that's another article.
(and no, I haven't seen The Snyder Cut yet so don't ask.)
Filming for The Flash is officially underway in the UK and was announced yesterday via Instagram by director Andy Muschietti who gave us IT and the sequel IT- Chapter 2 as well as MAMA.
The Flash is set to hit theaters(and who knows maybe HBO MAX) in November 2022!
