Watch The Trailer For Chadwick Boseman's Final Film 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom'
The movie arrives on Netflix in December.

The trailer for Netflix's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom is finally here. The highly-anticipated film stars Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman in his final on-screen appearance. Other featured cast include Glynn Turman, Colman Domingo, and Michael Potts.
Fans will certainly get chills, and maybe some tears, seeing the beloved Boseman on screen for the first (and last) time since his untimely passing. The Black Panther and 42 star succumbed to cancer on August 28. He was 43.
The day he died, his most recent film, Spike Lee's Da Five Bloods, was released.
Written by Ruben Santiago Hudson, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom was produced by Todd Black, Dany Wolf, and Denzel Washington. The film is directed by two-time Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe who helmed Angels in America: Millennium Approaches and Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk.

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom is a film adaption of August Wilson's award-winning play of the same name. The picture stars Viola Davis as Ma Rainey, a trailblazing blues singer, and Chadwick Boseman as her boyfriend, Levee, an up-and-coming trumpeter. Set in 1927 Chicago, the story centers around race in the music business and the exploitation of Black artists in the early part of the century.
In 2016, unbeknownst to the general public, Chadwick Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer. That same year, he was cast as King T'Challa/Black Panther in the Marvel franchise film Captain America: Civil War.
The following year, he reprised his role as King T'Challa in the Marvel blockbuster Black Panther. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film hauled in $1.3 billion at the global box office. In large part due to Boseman's stellar performance, Black Panther became a pop culture phenomenon.
Chadwick Boseman was undoubtedly a generational talent. During his career, garnered two MTV Movie Awards for Best Hero and Best Performance in a Movie and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for his performance as Black Panther.
Ma Rainey's Black Bottom comes to Netflix on December 18.
